About Caldwell Entertainment (CE)

At the tender age of 18, Steven (Steve) Caldwell founded Caldwell Entertainment in the spare room of his parents house to pursue his dream of becoming a filmmaker. Having no close family connections in either the Film/TV Industry or the Business World, the early years were very much a “trial by fire”. However, determined to succeed, Steve saw any setback as an opportunity to learn and over the next 10 years with this mindset he grew the company to be one of Australia’s Leading Video Production Companies, gaining as clients international juggernauts including Sony Pictures, Universal Studios and Drake International along with over 100 small and medium sized local businesses.

Since commencing operation, we have prided ourselves on embracing new technology and doing things differently. Two key examples of this were being one of the first production companies in the world to shoot a Feature Film (Bad Behaviour) entirely on DSLR cameras (now a very common practice) and our team rigging a camera to a remote controlled helicopter (think a DIY drone - before there were drones) for the Jes McGarry Music Video “Let Me Know”.

We understand that video in today’s market needs to be versatile and so all of our video productions are created for both portrait and landscape presentations. We also script and film projects with opportunities for cutdowns (eg 30 & 15 second edits from a 1 minute video) in mind. This means that any content we create for you will always be ready for Social Media, whether that is the primary or a secondary destination.

Throughout the company’s history so far, we have provided video content for a diverse range of clients across a wide array of industries including finance, law, education, trades, health, beauty, entertainment, retail & hospitality. The future of Caldwell Entertainment is looking bright too. In 2024 we became the preferred provider of TV Commercials for the 9 & 10 Networks as well as Sky News on the Gold Coast. In late 2025, Steve will launch an adult animated comedy series he co-created with former CE team member Nathan Baldassero called “Over The Hill In Clackerville” and in 2026 we will launch a Pilot for the CGI TV Show, “The Dragon’s Prey”, based on a series of popular books.
